Background of the Study:
In the digital era, technology integration has emerged as a transformative force in education, especially within early childhood settings. In Kumbotso Local Government Area, Kano State, technology integration training equips educators with the skills to incorporate digital tools into their teaching methodologies. These training programs introduce teachers to interactive software, digital learning platforms, and multimedia resources, facilitating the creation of engaging, student-centered learning environments (Okoro, 2023). The adoption of technology is not merely about using new tools; it reshapes pedagogical approaches to meet the needs of the digital generation. Recent studies have shown that technology integration training leads to significant improvements in teaching practices and learning outcomes, as it encourages the use of adaptive and interactive learning strategies (Jamil, 2024). In Kumbotso, initiatives to integrate technology in the classroom have enhanced instructional delivery, fostered collaborative learning, and promoted digital literacy among young learners. The training programs enable educators to effectively leverage digital tools, bridging the gap between traditional teaching methods and modern practices. Furthermore, enhanced digital literacy contributes to increased student engagement, higher motivation levels, and improved critical thinking skills, all essential for holistic early childhood development (Bukar, 2025). Despite these benefits, challenges remain, including limited digital resources, inadequate infrastructure, and resistance to change among educators and parents. Overcoming these barriers requires comprehensive training programs coupled with supportive policies and investments in technological infrastructure.
Statement of the Problem:
Despite the recognized benefits of technology integration in early childhood education, its implementation in Kumbotso Local Government Area faces notable challenges. One significant problem is the insufficient level of technology integration training available to early childhood educators; many teachers lack the necessary digital skills and confidence to effectively incorporate technological tools into their instruction (Okoro, 2023). Limited access to modern digital infrastructure further exacerbates this issue, resulting in underutilized digital resources in classrooms. This gap hinders the development of essential digital literacy skills among young learners and impacts overall educational quality. Moreover, there exists a disconnect between the theoretical advantages of technology integration and its practical application in the classroom. The absence of a standardized framework for technology training leads to inconsistent practices, where some educators effectively use digital tools while others continue to rely on traditional methods (Jamil, 2024). Socio-cultural resistance from parents and community members, who may be skeptical about the role of technology in early education, further complicates implementation. These challenges necessitate the development of robust training frameworks and investments in digital infrastructure to fully realize the benefits of technology integration in early childhood education (Bukar, 2025).
